                              Participation

Although youth involved in the CROSS program are court ordered to participate and complete the program, they are involved in the decision making process toward their treatment and  CROSS elements (Community, Re-entry, Opportunity, Social, and Suppression). Participants explore their strengths, interests, risks and barriers for success. They set personal, long and short term goals, based on what is important to them.

Participants are given ample opportunity to learn social, communication, listening, and decision making skills with their family and practice these new skills together. CROSS Coordinators are committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental place where participants and their families are encouraged to express their thoughts and opinions open and honestly.

CROSS helps participants and families navigate legal, school, and community systems. Often these unfamiliar expectations can become overwhelming.  Coordinators assist with these issues and make the process manageable.
